Other Tolle GroupsThe Group
You're warmly invited to attend gatherings of the Fremantle Eckhart Tolle Teachings Group.
Anyone 16 years-of-age and over may join us, but it's preferable that they are familiar with some of Eckhart's books or recorded talks (see our Products page).
A courtesy call (9336-4737) to let us know you are coming, or if you're a regular attender, that you would like to bring a friend, would be appreciated.
The group meets at Gurukula, the home of Pete and Pearl Sumner, in Daly Street, Fremantle (the charming port city of Perth -- the capitol city of Western Australia). For a location map, Click Here. When?
Presently, the group (which averages about 35 attenders) meets regularly on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. Visitors are advised to arrive by 2.45pm to ensure comfortable seating.
What Do We Do?
We begin with a period of quiet or silent meditation and then we usually watch about 45-50 minutes of one of Eckhart's videoed talks. This is followed by another period of silent reflection. The gathering begins and concludes with special music. At the end of the program, light refreshments are served and there is ample opportunity for attenders to meet and chat.
Why?
Eckhart has said: "It's a good idea to meet with other people who are moving into presence, so if you can find a group of people, who are not trying ... that is very helpful, because the group itself is an energy field; an extremely helpful energy field is created in which it becomes easier for presence to arise.... " "Presence arises when all trying comes to an end, because trying means effort, which means future, which means trying to get somewhere, which means NOT present. So it is helpful to be with others, in whom presence is also emerging, because they aren't trying." (excerpt from Santa Cruz talks)
How Much Does It Cost?
A donation of $5.00 per person to cover overheads is appreciated, but all are welcome.

Eckhart Tolle was born in NW Germany in 1948, where he lived until the age of thirteen. He then moved to Spain and lived there with his father for the next six years. He then decided to go to the UK to work and study. After graduating from the University of London, he took up a position as a research scholar and supervisor at Cambridge University.
One night, at the age of twenty-nine, after suffering periods of acute anxiety and depression, Eckhart experienced a personal crisis and as result, a profound spiritual transformation virtually dissolved his old identity and set in train a course of events that was to bring him to the attention of millions.
Eckhart has authored several books, the first being 'The Power of Now', which has sold over two million copies and has been translated into 35 languages. He then wrote a small volume entitled: 'Stillness Speaks' which one can dip into anywhere for insight and profit. His latest book, 'A New Earth' was released in late 2005 and early sales indicate that this too will be a best-seller. Some exerpts from his writings are available online.
Eckhart has traveled extensively, taking his teachings and his presence throughout the world (though he hasn't yet been to Australia). He's much in demand as a retreat teacher and is often called on to address large audiences. Recently, however, he's limited his public appearances in order to reflect and write.
Eckhart is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition. In his teaching, he conveys a simple yet profound message with the timeless and uncomplicated clarity of the ancient spiritual masters -- we can know the truth of who we really are and there is a way out of mind-made suffering and into peace.

Eckhart's academic life continued for the next few years, but eventually, he felt that was not the way he was meant to go and so he left the university and devoted several years reflecting upon, understanding, integrating, and deepening that transformation which had marked the beginning of his intense inward journey. In 1996, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, and began work on his first book.
